Mustache Transplant Operation
For a man’s appearance, beard and mustache are important as they highlight the contour of the face and accentuate the masculine virility, and also cover the unpleasing areas of the chin or cheeks. Unfortunately, facial hair may be insufficient or completely absent in some areas because of a scar, genetic predisposition or hormonal deficiency. Thanks to the beard transplant, now you can be able to regrow the lost hair again.
Mustache Transplant Surgery
Beard and mustache complete the masculine appearance, losing facial hair can cause low self-esteem and therefore problems in social life. But now, the solution has been found thanks to the technology innovation and the new developed methods as FUE that allows up to take follicles from a donor area and implant them in the mustache region.
This technique ensures you the aimed appearance for a lifetime. Mustache transplant operation is performed on an average period of 2 to 3 hours depending on the number of grafts, under local anesthesia. It’s a microsurgery that demands more care due to the delicate area and the structure of the face, although in normal circumstances operated area heals faster compared other regions.

Mustache Transplant Procedure
Since the operation is performed in a delicate area, it’s must be done by an expert team and doctor.
In the process of non-scar FUE Technique, the grafts are collected using a micro motor. 300 to 600 grafts is the average number, unless the person does not have mustache then we would need around 600-800 to get the aimed result.
Those grafts have to be implanted with adequate density and with an angle of 35-40 angle to the side of lips to ensure a natural appearance.
Before The Mustache Transplant Operation
The procedure begins with the medical examination as for all transplant operations. Two main aspects should be taken into consideration which are, the need for the recipient zone and the number of grafts to obtain.
After The Mustache Transplant Operation
Mustache transplantation requires a post-operation process, that is more sensitive than hair transplant, because it’s performed in the facial area. Some bleeding and swelling may occur to the hair follicles but the area will heal quickly and return to normal.
After the surgery, the first washing process is done by expert doctors and medical team within 3 days, the roots should not be touched. These shells will be cast during the washing period, and the final shape requires a process of almost 1 year.
Also, we have some tips to take into consideration including:
- The grafted area should not be scratched or rubbed.
- Operated area shouldbe kept dry until your doctor performs the first wash.
- No chemical products such as shaving lotion, cologne, cream should be used.
- Operated area should be protected from impacts and trauma.
- The doctor’s medications and care products should be used regularly after thetransplant.
- Sun exposure should be avoided for the first 15 days.
- Avoid streneous exercise, stress and activity that may trigger sweating in the first week.
- Operated area should be kept clean.
- In the first 3 days after the operation, lips should not be stretched or moved too much.
