Abdominoplasty Surgery in Turkey
The attractive body with a beautiful appearance is very important to men and women and when they have to struggle with sagging, they are negatively affected in psychological and social ways. This happens especially for women after pregnancy, and for men after loosing a lot of weight. When it occurs, the most effective way to treat it is with Abdominoplasty.
Abdominoplasty is the most advanced method of treatment, because it removes skin sagging, fatness excess, softens the abdominal area, clears the navel area and makes the abdomen taut. This operation is carried out in Turkey with the latest technology and equipment.
Who Can Make Abdominoplasty?
The abdominal area is one of the most important areas of the body. A flat belly can make you feel satisfied with yourself and make you confident to wear your favorite clothes with all comfort. But as any other aesthetic procedures, people who wish to do the procedure must fulfill some characteristics, such as:
- abdominal skin is saggy.
- muscles of the abdomen are dangling.
- excess fat in the abdominal area.
- a lot of cracks in the abdomen.
Tummy tuck is not a surgery for weight loss. It is a process to improve the appearance of the abdomen in people who have lost weight or after pregnancy. If you are planning to lose weight or if you are pregnant, it is recommended that you wait for the tummy tuck until the birth is done and/or the weight is established.
Before Abdominoplasty in Turkey, first, your doctor will ask you to do some exams to know the exact amount of fat you have in the abdomen (in case you have excess fat he may sugest you a liposuction in the meantime.) and then he will choose the appropriate technique for you. During the exams is important to share your expectations with your doctor, as well yout medical history, because it will help you achieve the best results.
Is important to know that as all other plastic surgeries, there are some points to consider before the operation:
- You must be over 18;
- You should stop drinking alcohol and smoking three weeks before the operation.
- Inform your doctor about the medications you are using regularly.
- If you are using antidepressants or eight loss pills, you should stop using them at least three weeks before the procedure.
- You should avoid painkillers, herbal supplements, vitamins and aspirin one week before the operation.
- You should stop eating heavy meals before the operation.
- You must have completed weight loss process before the operation.
- If you are planning to get pregnant again, you should wait until after giving birth.
- If you suffer from chronic conditions such as diabetes and blood pressure, it is essential to tell your doctor
- If you have an infection in your body, it is necessary to postpone the procedure until the disease ends.
A distortion may occur in the abdominal area and muscles after pregnancy or weight loss. This leads a deformation of the skin in the abdomen.
After pregnancy, the tissue that forms the abdominal wall dangles, resulting in an inflated abdomen. The detachment of the abdominal muscles from each other with the pressure of the body’s internal organs makes the abdomen hanging and flaccid. Therefore, the most effective solution to get rid of excess fat and loose skin is through a tummy tuck.
Abdominoplasty process in Turkey takes approximately 1.5-5 hours depending on the applied technique.
You will be under general anesthesia when the doctor will open a incision about 8-10 cm in the area under abdominal navel and under the underwear.
Because of the incision, there will be a scar in this area but it can be easily hidden because it will remain under the underwear.
Liposuction, breast and uterine surgery and ovarian surgery can be performed along with tummy tuck in Turkey. The applied method is chosen based on the elasticity of the skin, the degree of sagging and the amount of abdominal muscles. There are two ways to conduct the process:
Full Abdominoplasty: The incision and excess skin are removed below the navel, and the taut abdominal muscles are tightened and the shape of the navel is corrected if it is deformed. In addition, excess fat is removed in the abdomen and waist.
Mini Abdominoplasty: The mini tummy tuck is a simpler procedure, it is applied to those who have no signs of sagging on the abdominal skin. Only the skin and excess fat are removed from the lower abdomen. Tummy muscles can also be tightened if needed.

Abdominoplasty and Pregnancy
There is no harm in pregnancy again after tummy tuck. The process doesn’t interfere with pregnancy and does not prevent abdominal growth. Abdominal expansion can occur after one year of birth. However, you must remember that sagging and stretching the abdomen may occur again at pregnancy after the operation. Therefore, it is recommended to perform a tummy tuck when there is no planning for pregnancy again or loss of weight.
After Abdominoplasty
It is necessary to stay in the hospital for one night after the surgery, and during the first few days. There may be a feeling of pain and swelling in the abdomen. However, these pains can be controlled by painkillers.
After the operation, medical drains that are placed in the body are removed to get rid of the accumulated fluid within 3-5 days.
Even if you have difficulty standing upright after the operation, you should walk with the help of someone after 6-7 hours of operation. After one day you can walk alone.
The incision takes about two weeks to heal and the muscles heal and harden within six weeks after. For this reason, you should avoid heavy sports for three weeks, abdominal exercises for six weeks and do not exhaust the abdominal muscles.
After the operation, you should wear a medical corset for one month in order to increase the success of the operation and get the desired appearance faster. Your body may take 3-4 months to reach the final shape. You can return to your daily life and your practical life within about 2-4 weeks depending on your body’s recovery speed.
Your stitches may look bad in the first few months. However, at the end of the first year, the effects will fade even if they don’t disappear completely.
The result is permanent especially if you exercise and make a proper diet, but there are some things to consider after the operation such as:
- You should not bathe until your doctor approves.
- You must wear a medical corset during the specified period.
- Coughing and sneezing should be avoided, because stitches are not fully welded during the first week.
- You should avoid sunlight after the operation.
- You should use the medications prescribed by your doctor regularly during the prescribed period.
- Heavy activities should be avoided for 2-3 weeks.
- You should not smoke or drink alcohol after the operation during the specified period.
After Abdominoplasty in Turkey, just follow your doctor’s tips and you will get the desired look easily.
